Water safety has been a primary focus of the Red Cross since 1914, and our courses reach every skill level and interest. Here you will find proven courses for teaching swimming to all ages, providing job skills and helping families safely enjoy a wide range of water recreation opportunities.

Learn-to-Swim Program

As the recognized leader in swimming education, the Red Cross offers your organization the broadest, most thorough learn-to-swim program available. Seven progressive skill levels are designed to help children and adults learn to swim, continually improve their skills and gain confidence in the water. Water safety instruction appropriate to each level promotes awareness and teaches key emergency-response skills.

This program also teaches safe diving and shows participants how to make swimming part of a lifetime fitness program. Activity books, reference texts, videos and wall charts make it easy for your instructors to deliver quality training without extensive preparation.

Although this chapter no longer offers its own Learn to Swim classes, we have authorized providers in this county that offer American Red Cross - Learn to Swim classes.  Before signing your child up for ANY water safety or swimming class, ask if they are a provider of our quality curriculum.

Contact our local Authorized Providers of Red Cross aquatics programs.
They provide our Learn to Swim Programs, Lifeguard Certification, and other fine aquatics programming from the American Red Cross!
